As I'm sure you know, a big part of the money and the power in any country in the world is in the hands of the Mafia bosses. They pay to the politics for certain things and certain laws.

They can buy almost everything and often they do. It is not good and nobody of us wants it but we have agree that is the way it is. So today I will present to you some of the details about India's Underworld.

Where is it located? What are its main activities? Who are the leaders?
The most interesting places are the cities and in particular the big one like Bangalore and Mumbai.

Bangalore
It Is India's third largest city with a population of over 5 million people. The main source of money in this city is the land. Most of the Bangalore's dons (this is how the Mafia bosses are called) are involved in this business today. The thing is that, when someone owns a property he writes its name on the wall. When a criminal organization decides, that this particular property is attractive for them they just go there and write over the name of their don. The original owner can do nothing about this because the court usually need 15 to 20 years to decide and even then the owner can't be sure that he will get his money or his property back. The organize crime in the city is dated in late 60s when a man called Kodigehalli Gowda become first underground don. After him this title was given to many. In the late 80s and early 90s a new generation of criminals raised. They were define like Turks. Today most these people claim to have a legal business and they do not participate any more in any illegal actions. Some of them are Muthappa Rai and Egney Shrider.

Mumbai
Here is where the things gets even more serious. Here the Mafia has its origins 20 years earlier then Bengalore's. Here was the first Mafia family called Thane. They was involved in heroin traffic and opium traffic, gambling and etc.

Today India is a very important transit point for heroin which is going to Europe. The country is also the biggest legal producer of opium. All these criminal actions is hard to be stopped because of the corruption and the participation of the politics in the Mafia actions.
