Over the last few years the constantly growing number of flights in India caused a major lack of pilots for the Indian flight companies. The struggle to find more pilots led to the shocking conclusion that there could be some pilots with fake documents. This was followed by the alarming news for more and more companies hiring pilot who do not have the proper documents which gives them the rights to have a commercial pilot's license.
This is a true nightmare for India's air industry which is still recovering from a very problematic period involving fuel prices and the growing of passengers. Till the 2011 about 13 if not more pilots have not passed the inspections of the Delhi's Police department which found that there were some DCGA officials who help the pilots to get their fake licences. This is very disturbing situation for the DCGA and it can cause serious economical damages to airline companies because many people will probably choose to travel by train.
Knowing this DCGA promised to the government that it will take serious precautions and review, of all pilots licenses and the supporting documents for them, will be made. By doing so DCGA can restore the faith of the Indian airline's customers in the safety of the flight services in India.
