For 29 races the new team didn't succeed to won any points but in 2009 on the Belgium Grand Prix, Force India won their first points and even a podium. The pilot who achieved that was Giancarlo Fisichela.
At the beginning, the team used Ferrari engines but didn't get much of success. On the next year The team started to work with Mercedes Benz. Force India put Mercedes engines in their cars and began closer relationships with Mercedes research team.
Today Force India are still working with Mercedes and Mclaren. They started the 2011 year with a nice race in Australia where Adrian Sutil finished eleventh.
The main sponsors of the team are Kingfisher, which is Indian airline group, and ICICI Bank( also from India).
In 2012 the team had to be able to use fully automated CFD solution which will have to help for the improving of the design and the performance of the new generation cars of the team.
