A dream come true. A boy from one of the poorest parts of India, became the newest millionaire in India. This may sounds like the script of the famous movie “Slumdog Millionaire”, but it actually isn't. This is a fact.
This week, a boy named Sushil Kumar, won the money from a popular Indian TV program, the local version of “Who Wants to Be a millionaire”. The show is hosted by the Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan.
The family of the boy say that they cannot connect with their relative at the moment, because he is constantly on the move, flying from one place to another. The boy's brother says that Sushil was really well prepared for the show and that his win is not a coincidence or luck.
Sushil Kumar is a 27 years old, government clerk who works for $150 a month. He has a master degree in philosophy and works additionally as a teacher in order to secure his family. His parents are so poor, that when the show was shown on the TV, they had to go to their neighbours to watch it, because they cannot afford to own a TV.
Sushil Kumar, however, has plans for the way he is about to spend his money. He is determined to build a house, to pay all the debts of his parents, to build a library in his village and give some money to his brothers, so they could start a small family business.
So, what this story tells us? Well, we simply should not stop dreaming and we always have to be prepared, just in case that we got lucky.
