Politics of India

The Republic of India: Today the country is a state in South Asia. India is the 7th largest in the word and taking the 2nd place by population 1.2 billion people.

It's economy is in the top ten in the economy word by the nominal GDP and the 4th largest by power party. India is a federal constitutional republic consisting of  28 states.Today India is republic with multi-party system. There are also six national parties like the Indian National Congress and the Bhartiya Janaha Party. 

Its political history shows that in the three general elections The Congress (its leader was Jawaharlal Nehru) won easily. After the death of Nehru, Shastri became the prime minister and succeeded with the Congress, but he follow the the destiny of Nehru and died unexpectedly. Then in 1966 Indira Gandhi led The Congress to victory in the years of 1967 and 1971. In 1977 Gandhi and his Congress were voted down by the people of India. The reason was the state of emergency which Gandhi stated. He was replaced by the brand new Janata Party, but it only lasted 3 years and then again came along The Congress in 1980. Gandhi was murdered afterwards. His son Rajiv had  easy win against his rivals at the elections at the end of the year. In 1989 The Congress fell out again outvoted by the alliance between the National Front led by Janata Dal and the Left Front. Just after 2 years (1991) the general elections were back and then as the biggest party, the Congress won and formed the Minority Government. It's leader Rao manage to complete the five-year term. In 2004 in the elections was again as the largest party The Congress pull out the victory and formed the coalition of the United Progressive Alliance known as UPA. In 2009 UPA was given the power again and Monmohan Singh became the first ever prime minister since Nehru to be given second five-year term.

India's International Relations:
Since its independence (1947) has strongly supported the European Colonies in Africa and Asia. India even played a major role in the Non-Aligned Movement. Also The Republic of India have relations on strategic note with Russia, France, Israel and many more counties. 

Economy state of India: As the 10th largest in our world is equal to 1.53 trillion US dollars. But even in this position still the capital income is only 1,000 dollars. The country is the 2nd largest in the world by work force (467 million workers). However the World Bank state reads that for India to achieve full economical potential it must focus on several things such as public sector, transport infrastructure, public health and others political states.
